Detection defect size of airborne ultrasonic testing.

Ultrasound propagates through the air without the need for a coupling medium! It can detect materials that cannot be applied to water or oil, etc.

In ultrasonic testing, a contact medium (such as water, oil, or glycerin) was necessary to transmit ultrasonic waves to the test specimen; however, this testing method allows ultrasonic waves to propagate through the air without the need for a contact medium. Therefore, it can detect items that cannot be tested with water or oil. Our company offers the non-destructive testing image processing system, the air ultrasonic flaw detection device 'GSCAN type.AERO', which can conduct material inspections without a contact medium. 【Features】 ■ Air ultrasonic waves do not require a contact medium compared to the water immersion method, which is an advantage, but the condition of the defect size in air ultrasonic flaw detection should be confirmed. ■ A resin plate test specimen with paper artificial defects of φ9mm, φ7mm, φ5mm, and φ3mm was prepared, with the transmitting and receiving probes arranged opposite each other for flaw detection, and the detection status was confirmed. ■ For artificial defects up to φ3mm, the height of the transmitted pulse decreased, but it was still sufficiently possible to distinguish between the defect and the sound part. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Aerial ultrasonic testing of plywood.

Identifying joints and defective joints! A significant decrease in the transmission pulse of defective joints was observed.

The issue is the bonding defects (delamination between layers) that occur during the plywood lamination process, and the aim is to detect them. We confirmed the condition of the adhesive joints using air-coupled ultrasonic testing. In the case of bonding defects (delamination between layers), the transmitted pulse decreases, allowing us to distinguish between the bonded area (blue) and the defective area (yellow/red) in the testing results. Additionally, the bonding areas of the plywood are less affected by material noise, and the transmission rate is good, making the decrease in the transmitted pulse of the defective areas clearly observable. Our company offers the air-coupled ultrasonic testing device 'GSCAN type.AERO,' which allows for non-destructive testing and image processing of materials without contact. 【Features】 ■ In the experiment, plywood (450mm long × 150mm wide × 18mm high) was prepared, and the transmitting probe and receiving probe were arranged opposite each other, with the plywood placed in between for testing. ■ The transmitted ultrasound passes through the plywood, and the ultrasonic signals are received. ■ In the case of bonding defects, part or all of the ultrasound is obstructed, resulting in a lower height of the received transmitted pulse compared to the sound areas. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

I would like to try an ultrasound examination. We accept trial test commissioned examinations!

You can conduct trial tests to check for any defects in products or materials under development, as well as before implementing a full inspection system for the manufacturing process and finished products.

We will respond to such requests! "I want to commercialize the product if there are no issues with the materials or products under development, but I'm worried about defects. I want to know the internal conditions without destruction." "We have decided to conduct 100% inspection in the manufacturing process and would like to introduce an automated non-destructive testing system, but first, I want to test whether defects can be properly detected." After conducting the contracted tests, we will issue a report and provide useful advice based on the results obtained from the inspection.
